Boss Wants Too Much

For thirty years, Johnson had arrived at work at 9 A.M. on the dot. He had never missed a day and was never late.

Consequently, when on one particular day 9 A.M. passed without Johnson's arrival, it caused a sensation. All work ceased, and the boss himself, looking at his watch and muttering, came out into the corridor.

Finally, precisely at ten, Johnson showed up, clothes dusty and torn, his face scratched and bruised, his glasses bent. He limped painfully to the time clock, punched in, and said, aware that all eyes were upon him, "I tripped and rolled down two flights of stairs in the subway. Nearly killed myself."

And the boss said, "And to roll down two flights of stairs took you a whole hour?"

LIFE WITHOUT DEATH AND TAXES

I'm sure we have all heard that there are two things in life you can count on  - Death and Taxes.  And it's true, you can be sure that death is going to be part of life (unless some heavenly miracle takes place and these heavenly miracles are both few and far between).  Life is something none of us will get out of alive.  Death is something we are all going to experience, so plan on it.  Taxes, more than likely will be another thing we'll be able to count on in life, as long as there are politicians.  This is also something we better count on and make provisions for.  However, there is a third thing we can also count on in life.  It's a permanent thing.  It's something that will always be there.  We had better count on this third thing, which really should be our second concern right after Death. This thing is constant.  This thing is CHANGE.  Change is permanent.  Change is constant.  Change will occur.  Whenever you are content and happen with your current situation you should be making provisions for when that situation will fade and a new situation will crop up.  Change is an opportunity getting ready to happen.  Let's be prepared for it.  It is coming.  Let's be ready as best as we can.

One of the best things you can do over the years is
create a "swipe file" of the best sales letters
you have seen online. 

I use my swipe file whenever I need ideas or
inspiration when I'm writing copy. It's
amazing how this helps shortcut the entire
copywriting process.

It's actually brain-dead simple to do this...
create a new folder on your computer called "Swipe
File" or something like that.  Name it what you like.

Then when you see a really good sales letter, just
select "File, Save As" in your web browser menu
and save the sales letter in your Swipe File
folder.

(What I actually do is create a new subfolder for
each sales letter.)

You can get great copy this way and look like a
copywriting genius.  You can then rewrite to suit
yourself.
